AuCoin backs Novick

Former Rep. Les AuCoin, who represented the first district in Congress for eighteen years, has endorsed Steve Novick for the Democratic U.S. Senate nomination. AuCoin announced his backing of Novick at a Portland press conference on Monday.

AuCoin gave up his House seat in 1992 to run for the U.S. Senate, and lost to Republican Bob Packwood by a 52%-47% margin.
