Alley campaign responds to new DPO website

The Allen Alley campaign responded on Thursday to the anti-Alley website Oregon Democrats launched by taking a more of a glass-is-half-full approach toward the candidate's business history at Pixelworks, the Portland-based technology company that Alley founded.

“That’s one view of a company that sold $1 billion worth of product over the last 11 years and paid out over $150 million in compensation to Oregon workers. The only regret is that there isn’t five more of them,” Eric Wareheim, Alley’s campaign manager, said of the Oregon Dem’s website.

The new website, controlled by the Oregon Democratic Party, accused Alley of trying to sell himself to the voters as a business guru, even though the company he founded has not turned a profit in the past few years.

Too bad

Too bad those Oregon workers no longer exist, they lost their jobs when Alley outsourced them to China. But at least Allen made out ok, he paid himself millions while the company floundered, guess that's why they made him resign as CEO.

According to Mr. Wareham, we should feel sad that Oregon doesn't have more "five more" companies shipping jobs overseas.

Alan Alley, Yeah right...

I think what Eric Wareham was saying is that CHINA should feel bad that Oregon doesn't have more companies like this.

Really?!? Five more???

Five more Pixelworkses??? Hmm...

- Allen Alley gets 5 times richer,
- China gets 5 times as many employees,
- 5 times as many investors lose 95% of their stock value.

Yup, sounds like a winner to me.

Never have I head of an Oregon company that seemed so proud and so enthusiastic about moving jobs to China.

"Expanding our presence [in China] is of great importance,"

Alley

Maybe if Democrats didn't keep the corporate taxes so high here companies wouldn't have to outsource to China. To look at a companies performance only through it's stock price is both ignorant and naive. While Pixelworks performance may have gone down you must take into account the surrounding business environment. When competitors of yours start to make products in China for 10% of the cost it is hard to compete. Before you open your mouth about Alley's performance as a CEO I suggest you try and start your own company and sell a billion dollars worth of products, or at least take a business class. Until then I suggest you keep your mouth shut because you sound like a bunch of morons that don't know the first thing about business.

To Outsourcer:

By the way dumbo it's Allen Alley not Alan Alley. It's clear by your post that you truly are the highest caliber of educated voter. Your full capitalization of the word "CHINA" exposes the true subtly of your wit, well done. Hats off to you good sir.
