Thanks to another hefty loan to his own campaign, Mike Erickson (R-Lake Oswego) has a healthy campaign war chest heading into the summer months, while Kurt Schrader (D-Canby) will have to cope with a big deficit in cash on hand.
According to FEC filings, Erickson collected $65,433 in contributions and loaned his campaign an additional $974,500 during the second fundraising quarter which lasted from May 1 to June 30. The contributions and loan leave the campaign with $400,430.98 cash on hand. Erickson has lent his campaign $1,565,920.40 so far this cycle.
Schrader collected $305,061 in contributions this quarter but also cut his own campaign a large check, loaning it $100,000. That’s a total of $130,000 that he has lent his own campaign for this election cycle. Schrader is currently sitting on $231,044.65 cash on hand.
Both campaigns are carrying some debt, but according to the FEC filings, Erickson is much deeper in the hole. Erickson's campaign owes $3,133,220.40 and Schrader owes $148,677.59
