Atkinson accidentally shot
By Britten Chase, PolitickerOR.com ReporterState Sen. Jason Atkinson (R-Central Point) is in serious condition at Providence Medford Medical Center after accidentally being shot in the knee Tuesday night, the Medford Mail Tribune is reporting.
According to the Mail Tribune, Atkinson was working on a friend’s bicycle at the time, and after removing a small bag from the bike and dropping it, a .38-caliber derringer inside the bag fired, hitting his knee.
Atkinson represents District 2 in southern Oregon.
