Train-travelling delegate finally makes it to Denver

DENVER -- What does a Lane County Democratic delegate do on a 51-hour train ride from the Beaver State to the Mile High City?

“You can talk to people about Obama,” Matt Keating said as he enjoyed breakfast with the Oregon Delegation at the Democratic National Convention in Denver on Tuesday. “It’s nice because there’s no way they can get away from you.”

Keating, chapter coordinator of Lane's Students for Barack Obama, and an Obama delegate out of Eugene, was the only Oregon delegate that chose to travel by train to get to Denver. Since there was no direct route, he said, he had to go through Sacramento. But now, he says, he is excited to represent his state and see the party unify during U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton’s speech tonight. He was also excited to see the candidate he supported, and eventual nominee, speak on Thursday.

“It’s a matter of coming together, and sharing common progressive values.” Keating said

Keating was unsure if he was going to have to take the train back.

Good Job

I am so excited after hearing Hillary speak last night. Obama is the one to do it ~ I see a light at the end of the tunnel~~ But
I am so afraid that the Dems will mess something up ~~Please Please, ~ I worked so hard ~~ 50+ hours a week, volunteering for John Kerry 4 years ago in Eugene, ~~ & was sick after he lost, It JUST CAN"T happen again. We can't afford to let the Republicans cheat their way into office again.

PLEASE ~~~ Do everything ~~ I wish I was there to help.

I would donate money to help, However, in the last 4 years I have become a widow & I have to pay too much for my Health Insurance ~ & prescription medications, ~ I can't afford to donate anymore.
Except prayers & well wishes, & encouragement ~~~
Thank you,
