Oregon delegates move beyond Obama-Clinton divide

Oregonians supporting presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama (D-Ill.) and former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) said Tuesday that they have moved beyond the primary divide between the two candidates, despite the media's attempt to suggest there is bitterness between the two groups.

According to Oregon Obama delegate Enrique Arias, Clinton spoke to the Latino caucus Monday, urging them to unite behind Obama for the general election.

"A lot of Latinos supported her," Arias said. "But now she says we got to [throw our] support behind Obama, and people get that."

Former Clinton supporter Ginny Lang said that she has gotten over Clinton's primary defeat in Oregon and nationwide, and is prepared to go forward with the Democratic Party.

"Personally, my husband and I are both Clinton supporters," Lang said from the Oregon delegation hotel. "But just like any other political decision, you get over it and go back with the party."

Clinton addressed the convention Tuesday night, and told her supporters that this election was too important to remain bitter at the end result of the primary.

"My friends, it is time to take back the country we love," Clinton said to the crowd of delegates that gave her an extended standing ovation. "Whether you voted for me, or you voted for Barack, the time is now to unite as a single party with a single purpose. We are on the same team, and none of us can afford to sit on the sidelines."

She & her supporters better

She & her supporters better hope Obama wins. If McCain does we'll still have a politicized Justice Department & she'll be in jail.
Clinton=Stevens, Dubai$>home improvements.

Hillary is a Class Act

Thanks Martha. This really fits in with the whole "unity" theme.

Are you really taking this opportunity to take a swipe at Hillary for no good reason or are you just a troll masquerading as an ill-behaved Obama supporter?

Because I honestly can't tell the difference.
