Oregon dems to get to Mile High Stadium early

DENVER -- Oregon’s Democratic delegates hurried out of their breakfast on Thursday to take care of their remaining business before heading to Barack Obama’s much-anticipated acceptance speech.

Convention organizers are advising delegates to get to the opening of Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium at 1 p.m. on Thursday, six hours before Obama is set to take the micrphone.

While temperatures are only expected to climb into the upper 70s, the sun and the dry air are a cause for concern, as security concerns have banned attendees from bringing lotions and water into the stadium. Security has also banned long-range camera lenses, causing some delegates to return their cameras to their rooms before heading out for the day.

Many Oregon delegates said that they would not be getting to the stadium until later that afternoon, opting for shuttles that would get them there between 2 and 4 p.m. At the end of the speech, the shuttles will be taking them back to the hotel between 9 and 11 p.m.
