HD-26: Adamson unleashes new ad against Wingard detailing abuse charges

House District 26 candidate Jessica Adamson released a new advertisement Thursday detailing accusations of child abuse against State Rep. Matt Wingard (R-Wilsonville).

The ad highlights the abuse charges Wingard faced in 2002 for hitting his son over the head with a screw driver. The incident has been revisited in the news this week after House Democrats’ FuturePAC sent out a mailing detailing the case on Monday. This ad goes beyond the mailing to take a look at other abuse allegations that were uncovered in court documents relating to a custody battle Wingard had with the son’s mother. On Tuesday, The Oregonian got a hold of documents that detailed other incidents of alleged abuse.

Wingard had already come forward about the screwdriver incident. He defended himself on the other charges in the story published in The Oregonian, calling the charges untrue.

Calls to Matt Wingard were not immediately returned.

Divorce Records Have Little Credibility

I disregard what is said in custody battles during divorces. It says more about the opponent who uses divorce records as a way to sling mud. Talk about real issues.

It's not just the court records

There is no question that Matt Wingard repeatedly abused his son. His son testified to it. So did the counselor/psychologist. So did the physician. And so did Wingard's ex-girlfriend -- and she reaffirmed it just this week in the Oregonian.

Nice try, but Wingard is going down. Child abuse plus lies equals certain defeat.

Don't Need Divorce Records to Not Vote for GOP

The Republicans have done so much harm to whatever they touched in recent times, that I don't think it's necessary to make points about the opposing candidate being a lousy husband and father. I don't think people who prefer Republicans are swayed by it anyway.

They overlook a lot when it's someone with questionable morals from their own party.
