ORGOP disappointed in sign vandalism
By Britten Chase, PolitickerOR.com ReporterA spokeswoman for the Republican Party of Oregon said Wednesday the party was saddened and disappointed about vandalism that ruined several Republican candidate signs off of Hwy. 212 in Clackamas County.
“We hope everybody would be willing to participate in a fair election process, and this is not fair,” ORGOP spokeswoman Brianne Hyder said.
Signs for U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Pendleton), state treasurer candidate Allen Alley (R-Lake Oswego), OR-5 Congressional candidate Mike Erickson (R-Lake Oswego), HD-52 candidate Matt Lindland (R-Eagle Creek),
state Rep. Linda Flores (R-Clackamas), and Clackamas County Commissioner Dave Mowry were in tatters after it appeared that vandals drove out into the field and slashed through them with box cutters.
Clackamas County Republican Chair Tom Devanney said Wednesday he was going to alert the sherrifs office about the vandalism, which resulted in about $1,000 worth of damage. While Devanney wasn’t sure who was responsible, but he had a pretty good idea as to who was not behind the acts.
“It’s sure not Republicans doing it,” Devanney said.

That's a real heartbreaker
That's a real heartbreaker and I wish the sad Republicans a speedy recovery.
I've been placing signs for Democrats between Gresham and Mt. Hood for several election cycles, and have watched Republicans spam signs all over public rights of way, on private property without permission, and sometimes right in among the signs that we have placed after having gotten permission.
Demcratic signs are routinely defaced, burned, stolen, or just removed and thrown across the road. It's going on every day in our HGouse District.
Like Devanney says, I don't know who's doing it, but I'm sure it's not Democrats.
The Wrecked Sign Memorial
Are they leaving the wrecked signs up as memorial? That works. It could be a symbol of what Republican policies have done to us.

It seems odd that only the state signs are down in this picture. Could it be that it was done by republicans that are just sick and tired of their state republican representatives? They left the McCain signs. Very odd. If the vandals are going to vote it looks like they are going to vote for John McCain. I have lost my Obama sign and I want everyone to know that it is not just Republicans that are being attacked. Lets not forget George Fox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
