Kitzhaber, Blumenauer on rumor list for Obama post

Former Gov. John Kitzhaber was a name listed as a possible appointee in an Obama adiminstration, should the Democratic nominee win the election on Tuesday night.

Kitzhaber was placed on a short list, compiled by Politico.com, of possible candidates to fill the position of Secretary of Health and Human Services. Other possible candidates listed for the position include former U.S. Sen. Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) and current Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean.

U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Portland) was also one of two candidates listed as a possible future Secretary of Transportation. According to Politico.com, Blumenauer is facing competition for that position from Rep. Jim Oberstar (D-Minn.).
