Buckley ponders run for majority leader

With Portland's Jeff Merkley vacating his post as House Speaker to run for the U.S. Senate, Ashland Rep. Peter Buckley is reportedly interested in the seat, the Mail Tribune is reporting this morning.

Buckley, currently the majority whip, tells the paper: "It would be a step up in leadership for me, and I have let some people know that it is something I am interested in. Whether it's this time around or another time, we'll have to see how it plays out."

And Merkley is actually

And Merkley is actually Speaker, not House Majority leader. . . other than that, your 83 word post is very well researched.
