Independent Candidates
To clarify, in addition to Frohnmayer there is:
Jim Torrey, who broke a fundraising record in his bid to become Mayor of Eugene, is a member of the Independent Party.
Terry Rilling, who is running for a legislative seat in Hillsboro that he had previously run for as a Republican is an Independent.
So is Keith Wangle, who is running against Dennis Richardson in Central Point.
We also have two county commissioner candidates running in southern and eastern Oregon.
The goal of the party is to set up as many two-candidate races against uncontested major party candidates around th state.
The primary criteria for these candidates is that they be credible, and that they support reducing special interest control over our political process.
