DSCC Web ad mocks Smith’s ‘change of heart’

A new Web ad released by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee implies that U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Pendleton) changed his stance on the Iraq war only “After Republicans lost six Senate seats.

The video then goes on to show an image of Smith chuckling while standing beside President Bush. Text appears over the image reading “From 2002 to 2007, Gordon Smith voted more than 20 times to authorize and fund the Iraq War.”

The video later states that “Jeff Merkley has consistently opposed the Iraq War.”

The ad wraps up by flashing the text “Gordon Smith had his chance.” It then states, “Now’s the time for change.”

Smith and state House Speaker Jeff Merkley (D- Portland) are battling in one of the most watched senate races of 2008.

I like Merkley but this add

I like Merkley but this add is a complete waste of time, money, resources and what little credibility Merkley has.

Stop letting the high school freshman play with video editing equipment.

I wish I had a stronger word to say but "embarrassing" is the only one that comes to mind.
