A new poll shows U.S Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) leading U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in Oregon. Obama leads McCain 46 percent to 38 percent, according to the latest tally by Rasmussen Reports.
Ramussen found Obama ahead in favorability ratings as well. Thirty-two percent of respondents had a very favorable opinion of Obama, while only 15 percent responded ‘very favorable’ about McCain. Only 28 percent of those surveyed said they found Obama very unfavorable, and only 18 percent felt the same about McCain.
Twenty-seven percent of those surveyed felt Obama should pick U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) as his running mate.
Twenty-six percent believed McCain was too old to be president and 41 percent called Obama too inexperienced.
The survey, taken Wednesday night, polled 500 likely Oregonian voters. It had a margin of error, +/- 4.5 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence.
