Kitzhaber Endorses Novick

Steve Novick scored a big endorsement today when former Governor John Kitzhaber, one of the most popular of Oregon’s recent politicians, threw his support behind the Senate candidate.

"I am endorsing Steve Novick because he fully understands that in order to secure the future of this nation we must first be willing to face the facts," Kitzhaber said.

Kitzhaber, a widely respected two term Governor, initially won the office with his own slogan about facing the facts, an asset he sees in Novick.

"Steve is a committed fighter for progressive causes – and his primary weapon is the truth. More than any other candidate in this race, Steve has not only identified the great challenges facing America, but has also candidly described the difficulties involved with overcoming them. He has offered substantive solutions to the pressing problems we face," Kitzhaber continued.

Truth was the centerpiece of Kitzhaber’s campaign over a decade ago, and Novick finds it just as relevant today.

“We'll tell the truth, and tell the truth loudly, about what needs to be done — to reform health care, to prevent global warming, to rebuild a fair economy and a fair tax system. And we'll win. And then we'll get to work," the candidate said.
