Sen. Vicki Walker today highlighted the Legislator of the Year Award she recently received from the Special Districts Association of Oregon (SDAO.)
According the SDAO’s statement, Walker was “selected as an award recipient in large part because of her integrity, tenacity and consistent demands for government accountability.”
The Democratic candidate for Secretary of State has built her campaign around her ‘watchdog’ instincts and government accountability.
“Senator Walker has been a constant advocate on behalf of local governments that make our communities safe and vibrant places to live, work, and play,” said Todd Heidgerken, Chair of SDAO's Legislative Committee.
The Association also detailed a number of Walker’s legislative achievements, including her commitment to public safely, consistently advocating for accountability when granting tax exemptions, protecting the environment, eliminating red tape and promoting the average candidate’s ability to communicate with voters.
SDAO’s membership is composed of approximately 880 special districts which provide a number of essential public services.
