Metsger inducted into NW Steelheaders Hall of Fame

Even though salmon season is cancelled in Oregon this year, the NW Steelheaders are keeping busy.

The group named state Senator and Secretary of State candidate Rick Metsger to their Hall of Fame, where he joined Tom McCall, Bill Bradbury and John Kitzhaber.

The organization advocates for fish habitat, conservation and enhanced fisheries, and has spent substantive time protecting Oregon’s fish runs. As a Senator, Metsger has supported successful legislation to enhance habitat restoration and increase fishing opportunities.
