Erickson squeaks ahead of Mannix

Candidates Mike Erickson and Kevin Mannix are running closely in the Republican primary for the 5th Congressional District.

A new Survey USA poll shows Erickson (who took on retiring Congresswoman Darlene Hooley in 2006) with a 4% lead over Mannix, although the margin of error was 5%, indicating that the candidates are near neck and neck.

Erickson had the support of 44% of those sampled, Mannix, 40% and17% were undecided. Erickson’s numbers were highest in the 50-64 and 65+ crowd, while Mannix led with the younger voters.

Voters who identified themselves as moderate also seemed to favor Erickson.
