John Kroger’s attorney general campaign has been touting the support they have received from both labor interests and law enforcement officials, and they chalked another group (and a big check) onto the list yesterday.
The Oregon Council of Police Associations (OPCA)— which represent 26 public safety associations—endorsed Kroger, citing his criminal justice experience.
The OPCA wasn’t the campaign’s only endorsement news yesterday. The SEIU backed up its previous endorsement (and $30,000 contribution) with a check for $120,000.
Kroger’s opponent, Rep. Greg Macpherson, has been faltering with a number of labor interests due to his key role in reworking the public employees’ retirement system five years ago, and Kroger has been reaping the rewards.
The contribution will help Kroger keep financial pace with Macpherson, who still leads by about $75,000.
