And then there were nine.
Sen. Hillary Clinton’s win yesterday in Pennsylvania kept her campaign afloat, and now she is focusing on the remaining contests, including Oregon.
First on the agenda is to get the Obama campaign to agree to two Oregon debates, one specifically focused on rural issues. (Clinton has traditionally done better than her rival with rural voters.)
“Since the Pacific Northwest hasn't had a single presidential debate, I am proposing today that Oregon host two Democratic debates, including one specific debate on the challenges facing rural Oregonians,” Clinton said in a statement.
Nick Shapiro, Obama’s Oregon Communications Director, called the “challenge” an old Washington game.
“There have been 21 Democratic debates and four one-on-one debates with Senator Clinton, all televised nationally. Senator Obama's focus is on meeting directly with Oregon voters about the issues that really matter to them – like jobs, ending the war in Iraq, combating climate change, and making health care affordable for all Americans,” Shapiro said.
