The race between Democrats John Kroger and Rep. Greg Macpherson grabbed media attention last week after a series of Macpherson’s ads hit the airwaves, raising Kroger’s ire.
Kroger just released a new spot of his own – one that inquires if voters are “insulted” by Macpherson’s “wholly negative” and “misleading” campaign.
The spot draws quotes a series of editorials and commentaries from The Oregonian and the Register-Guard that ran after Macpherson aired his last two ads.
The Mcpherson spots touted the message that Kroger’s record in Oregon is “open space” and that he has never practiced law in the state, having only passed the Oregon bar in 2007.
Kroger took issue with the factuality of Macpherson’s claims, and a back and forth over the definition of ‘practice’ ensued. In his new ad, Kroger makes sure to highlight a quote from an editorial in The Oregonian, which noted that Kroger is “an experienced, effective federal prosecutor.”
In this weeks Winner's & Losers the US Senate candidates top both lists, hope is revived for the GOP by one former House Speaker and Oregon needs a new rural prosecutor. | >
I’m off through July 23 for some much needed rest and relaxation. I'll be heading up to Niagara Falls and Buffalo, and then down to wine country.
Talk amongst yourselves while ... >
Thin Skin...
For a "tough" prosecutor, he sure whines a lot...
Since when is calling BS whining?
That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard, "Wow." (I dare you to dispute without sounding like you're whining under your own terms)
Macpherson's ads are loathsome and beneath him
Greg Macpherson should be ashamed of his ads. They are unremittingly nasty and negative, smug in tone, and annoying to watch.
I've met him a few times and he always seemed like a nice guy. Now I'm wondering.
???? is this guy "tough enuf" For Oregonians??????
I mean, if he can't just "blow this off" and Move on...in a forward direction.....ignoring....focusing on the "bigger picture" of the Well being he touts for Oregonians.....if he is This easily distracted and reactive...insulted?!......takes his eye off the ball to "deal" with petty crap....then????? he does Not know Oregonians very well...otherwise he would know "we" are sick of this "play-pen, can't get along with the other kids" mentality.
If there are allegations to be made against another AND it is factual...get it on the table during a debate, face to face..air the issue and move the heck on.
Talk about misleading
Kroger's ad quotes the Dave Reinhard editorial for the "ashamed" and "lack the intergrity" quote as though they are the words of the editorial board, which, in fact endorsed Macpherson, saying "because of achievements, background and policy positions, Oregon Democrats should pick Greg Macpherson as Oregon's next attorney general."
