Merkley sets his sights on Smith

Jeff Merkley is moving quickly. Minutes after winning the Democratic primary against Steve Novick, the campaign started honing in on Sen. Gordon Smith.

Matt Canter, Merkley's spokesman, cited the support of all of "all of Jeff's friends in labor organizations" as one of the factors that propelled the Speaker to victory.

"Smith is in big trouble," he said.

When asked where the campaign is going to go from here, Canter responded "I'm going to the bar."

He followed up the exuberant statement with a plan to travel the state. "Jeff is going to every county, to towns all across Oregon."

Honing In is a nonsense

Honing In is a nonsense term. Please upgrade your Strunk and White.

To hone is to sharpen.

Homing in is the correct terminology. It's what pigeons and guided missles do.....

Thank you.....
