Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Steve Novick is joining primary opponent Jeff Merkley today in praising the Democratic leadership for blocking FISA legislation.
"Senator Reid showed good judgment yesterday in putting off consideration of flawed legislation that would have provided our telecommunications' industry with a blanket get-out-of-jail-free card for their role in wiretapping Americans' phone calls,” said Novick.
“It is my hope that with this additional time, Senator Dodd and other voices of reason in the Senate caucus can convince their colleagues that protecting our nation does not require stomping on the Bill of Rights.”
