Attorney General candidate Rep. Greg Macpherson today announced the endorsement of the Oregon Farm Bureau PAC and Oregon Farm Bureau Federation.
Macpherson spent his childhood on a dairy farm, an experience which, according to Barry Bushue, Vice President of American Farm Bureau Federation, has endowed the candidate with “a personal connection to Oregon’s agricultural community.”
“Greg’s understanding of agricultural issues and his service in the legislature were deciding factors in the Oregon Farm Bureau’s endorsement,” Bushue continued.
Macpherson cited his work on Measure 49, which stemmed development on rural and farm lands, as a factor in the endorsement.
The candidate has also secured the support of a range of organizations, including the Oregon League of Conservation Voters, NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon, UFCW Local 555.

Farmers and Enviros?
Anyone who can get the Farm Bureau and the OLCV to endorse him must be doing something right. These are not groups that usually see eye to eye. Good for you Greg!
Not so surprising
Actually, a lot of farmers care about the environment. Do not confuse the argro-corps with regular farmers. The later actually tend to be liberally inclined on the environment and economics.
I agree
I am right there with you Farmers care. But you would be hard pressed to find examples of the OFB and OLCV coming together on an issue like they did with M49. It certainly shows that Greg can bring a diverse group of people to the table over an issue. That is the kind of AG I want.
Also, we can't forget that without farmers, we don't eat.
