Smith to skip reelection
By Alex IsenstadtThe Oregonian is reporting that Corbett Rep. Patti Smith won't be running to reclaim her seat this year.
"Another veteran Republican of the Oregon House -- Rep. Patti Smith of Corbett -- won't be seeking re-election this year.
"That opens up another seat for Democrats to try to widen their slim 31-29 lead. Democrats Suzanne VanOrman and Steve Richkind have already filed for House District 52, where registered Democrats outnumber Republicans."

Very Clever...
I appreciate the misleading title to this post. How many people thought Gordon Smith dropped a bombshell today? I did and I knew about Patti Smith way before this post. Color me a sucker for today.
I did think it was a trick,
I did think it was a trick, but it still made me click the headline in my feed reader. I started thinking, "Well, he's certainly taken a lot longer to put up ads than he usually does..."
Not misleading but a little dumb
There are two Smiths in the Oregon House. And Gordon Smith. Your headline really makes it sound like someone sitting in NYC who knows nothing about Oregon politics but has been hired to write about it.
