The Oregonian’s Jeff Mapes has some fresh reporting on Mary Starrett, the 2006 gubernatorial candidate who is pondering a run for U.S. Senate on the Constitution Party ticket.
“Well, I just got off the phone with Starrett and it's clear she's not doing anything toward getting ready to run. She seems to be enjoying the attention, but as she told me: ‘Right now I don't have any plans to run. But I'm not saying I won't.’”
Mark Welczko, a losing primary challenger to U.S. Rep. David Wu earlier this year, has declared his intention to join the race for Labor Commissioner against incumbent Brad Avakian. >
