Does the lemon law apply to campaign ads? Because whatever
Mike Erickson (R-Lake Oswego) is paying his ad consultants, it's too much. The Republican candidate for the 5th Congressional District seat was sold a used car.
His campaign has an anti-illegal immigration/amnesty ad titled "Broken Border." The ad features grainy footage at a border crossing, accuses Democrats of offering "government handouts and amnesty", followed by on-screen text and an announcer saying: "Mike Erickson says: No More."
The same grainy footage, commentary and screen text (with the name changed) appears in an ad for
Jay Love, a self-proclaimed "conservative, Christian candidate for the Republican nomination for the 2nd Congressional District of Alabama."
Erickson, who should probably be running to the middle, was sold the same ad as a conservative from Alabama.
