Erickson without GOP endorsement for now, but still has Party support

With uncertainty about whether Mike Erickson will be the sole GOP candidate wading into District 5 waters, one of the big questions in the days and weeks to come is whether the Republican Party apparatus pledges its full support to Erickson’s campaign.

Erickson Thanks Hooley While Anticipating Change

Mike Erickson commented today on Rep. Hooley’s announcement, thanking the Congresswoman for her service while advancing his message of bringing new ideas to Washington.

GOP confident in picking up Hooley seat

Republicans involved in the District 5 race see Hooley’s retirement as a clear opportunity.

“The race was going to be competitive before Darlene Hooley’s retirement and it is going to be competitive now,” said NRCC spokesman Ken Spain.
