Mary Starrett, who won 4% of the vote in the 2006 gubernatorial race, is mulling a U.S. Senate bid against Gordon Smith
It looks like the field of candidates hoping to knock off Gordon Smith next year may potentially grow a bit more crowded. Jeff Mapes has pointed to an entry at senate2008guru that suggests Mary Starrett, who ran for Governor last year with the Constitution Party, for which she now serves as the National Political Communications Director, may be considering throwing her hat in the ring.
Starrett could bring an interesting dynamic to the race, as she's a staunch conservative on most issues ranging from abortion and gay rights, to illegal immigration and global warming, which she has refused to acknowledge truly exists.
