Eugene Congressman Peter Defazio is in a very good position.  President-Elect Barack Obama may offer him the top job as FAA Administrator.  Speaker Nancy Pelosi may dangle a lucrative chairmanship position in an effort to keep Defazio in Washington, DC.  And his campaign kitty currently holds over $350,000 (which is sure to grow in the coming months), that can be transferred to a state gubernatorial account should Defazio decide to take the plunge and run for Oregon's top elected job in 2010.

PORTLAND -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made a rare visit to Oregon on Friday, telling Obama supporters at a house party TK she was swinging through the state to shore up support for congressional candidate Kurt Schrader and Barack Obama.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will participate in a fundraiser and rally for congressional candidate Kurt Schrader on October 24, according to an email from the campaign.

Oregon State University Basketball Coach Craig Robinson

Oregon State University basketball coach Craig Robinson will be speaking at the Democratic National Convention, according to an announcement from convention organizers.

Robinson, who is entering his first season with the Beavers, will take the stage at the Pepsi Center on the night of Aug. 25 to introduce his sister, Michelle Obama. Obama, the wife of presumptive presidential nominee Barack Obama (D-Ill.), will be the headline speaker that night.
