Courtney pulls in $50k at Aug. event

Senate President Peter Courtney is seeking to strengthen the 19-11 Democratic majority in the State Senate this year, and he’ll be helped by a fundraising event earlier this month that brought in more than $50,000.  Courtney now has over $215,000 in his warchest.

Now with four members of the Oregon Senate Democratic caucus running for Secretary of State many are wondering what really went on behind closed doors in the last legislative session prompting Majority Leader Kate Brown to leave her leadership post and senate seat and sparking State Senator Brad Avakian, State Senator Vicki Walker and now State Senator Rick Metsger to run against each other, igniting the current blood bath. Did Senate President Peter Courtney forget to tell his caucus to play nice with one another at the last caucus meeting.
