Adams and the PDC

The Oregonian has a must-read story today on Portland Mayor-elect Sam Adams and the Portland Development Commission.  It seems outgoing Mayor Tom Potter will ask Adams’ input on the two PDC appointments, which come up next month, and that Potter wants to protect his friend, Marc Rosenbaum – whom the newspaper says may have a personality clash with the new Mayor.  CLICK HERE TO READ

Adams ‘thrilled, humbled and surprised’ at becoming Portland’s next mayor

Sam Adams, who will become Portland's next mayor after he received more than 50 percent of the vote in Tuesday's primary, was delighted by the margin of his victory tonight over his nearest competitor, Sho Dozono, and even a little bit shocked. As of 10:45 p.m., Adams had 58 percent of the vote compared to Dozono's 33.

"I'm thrilled, humbled and surprised," Adams told PolitickerOR.com at his victory party at the Jupiter Hotel. "What an opportunity to have seven months to get prepared. I had a great team that really put together and executed a fantastic grassroots campaign."

Dozono closes in on Adams in Portland mayoral race

Portland businessman Sho Dozono has narrowed the lead held by Commissioner Sam Adams in the city's mayoral race, according to a poll conducted last week by the Portland Tribune and FOX News 12.

The poll, the first in three months, indicates that Adams leads the 13-candidate field with 41 percent of the vote, the same number he had in February. Dozono however has picked up six points, giving him 26 percent of the vote.

PBJ poll has Dozono with a huge lead

The Portland Business Journal released a poll today showing businessman Sho Dozono with a 53%-35% lead over City Councilman Sam Adams in the race for Mayor of Portland.

Multnomah County GOP goes for Dozono

Portland mayoral candidates Sam Adams and Sho Dozono are both Democrats. There are two Republicans in the race—Christopher Rich and Jeff Taylor—but party loyalty didn’t seem to weigh in when Multnomah County Republican Party when they threw their support behind Dozono.

The Multnomah County Republicans’ endorsement called Dozono “a man of proven leadership in increasing society’s wealth,” while encouraging Rich and Taylor to run for other offices. “This is not their year for mayor.”

In the race for Mayor, Portland Commissioner Sam Adams leads businessman Sho Dozano by eleven percentage points, 47%-36%, according to a SurveyUSA/KATU-TV poll.

Adams scores sole endorsement of County Dems

Perhaps given the Portland Business Alliance’s dual endorsement in the mayoral race—they voiced support for both Sam Adams and Sho Dozono—and the Multnomah County Democratic Party’s dual endorsements in two contested City Council races, one might have expected that both Sho and Sam would be enjoying support from the latter.   read more »
