Craig Robinson, the older brother to Michelle Obama and Oregon State University men's basketball coach, will introduce his sister. After Obama's remarks, Don Miller of Portland -- the best-selling author and public speaker on Christian spirituality -- will say the benediction.

Today's convention schedule

The Democratic National Convention will be called to order at 5:00 PM EST today, with a theme of "One Nation."  Featured speakers include Michelle Obama, U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-Ill.), former President Jimmy Carter, and Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, who will introduce a tribute to her uncle, U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.).

Oregon State University basketball coach Craig Robinson will be speaking at the Democratic National Convention, according to an announcement from convention organizers.

Robinson, who is entering his first season with the Beavers, will take the stage at the Pepsi Center on the night of Aug. 25 to introduce his sister, Michelle Obama. Obama, the wife of presumptive presidential nominee Barack Obama (D-Ill.), will be the headline speaker that night.

OSU Coach/Obama brother-in-law will speak in Denver

Oregon State University basketball coach Craig Robinson will address the Democratic National Convention in Denver, where he’ll introduce Michelle Obama – his sister – on Monday evening.  As the Obama campaign seeks to re-introduce the candidate for First Lady to the voters, it won’t hurt that her brother transcends politics as a popular Division I basketball coach.
