Giving us a quick glimpse at what the two fifth congressional candidates have been doing since the May 20 primary, Democratic state Sen. Kurt Schrader and Republican Mike Erickson were relatively busy, although one a bit more so than the other.

Between the months of April and June, retiring Rep. Darlene Hooley disbursed a total of $163,956 with a large chunk $100,000 going to her colleagues at the DCCC and over $28,000 going back to her contributors.

Looks like the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is giving wealthy GOP nominee Mike Erickson a heads up on how serious they are about retaining retiring Rep. Darlene Hooley's seat in Congress.
