Obama campaign manager on Oregon and other battleground states

Sen. Barack Obama’s national campaign manager, David Plouffe, spoke about the campaign’s plans in Oregon and other battleground states on a conference call with reporters.

Plouffe noted that Oregon’s primary is a “very important moment in the campaign,” and that over the weekend volunteers will knock on “every door we can get to and call every person we can.”

“We see the finish line in sight,” he said.

Hillary and Barack are back

Presidential primary contenders Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama will just barely miss each other in Oregon in the coming days.

Clinton, who will spend Friday in the state before traveling to Kentucky, will hold a “Solutions for America” event in Junction City and then attend a televised town hall in Portland.

Obama will hold town hall meetings in Roseburg on Saturday and Gresham and Pendleton on Sunday.  Obama will also hold a rally in Portland on Sunday.

Obama heads to eastern Oregon

This weekend, Sen. Barack Obama will be back in Oregon for his fourth visit. The campaign has released Sunday schedule, which includes a town hall meeting in Pendelton.

Goonies never say die! Just like Hillary.

Sean Astin is coming back to Oregon.

Astin, leader of the "Goonies," which was filmed in Astoria, will be in Portland tomorrow, visiting Hillary Clinton’s campaign headquarters and then heading to Portland State University.

Maybe he’ll find the jewels hidden in his marble bag to save the Democrats.

When life imitates art: Dule Hill stumps for Obama

Dule HillDule HillCharlie Young, aide to "West Wing" President Josiah Bartlet (D-N.H.) is coming to town.

Well, more accurately, Dule Hill, the actor who portrayed him will be in Portland stumping for U.S. Sen. Barack Obama's presidential candidate.

Hill will join Portland Mayor Tom Potter, who will endorse the Obama's presidential bid on Wednesday.

Obama himself will make his fourth visit to Oregon this weekend.

Are Oregon's U.S. senators interested in being vice president?

Don't expect Oregon's U.S. senators to be a presidential runningmate. In a survey of the U.S. Senate's membership not already running for president on whether they'd accept an offer to be vice president, The Hill newspaper found a variety of responses to the veepstakes question. Some were accompanied by laughs, others took the question seriously.

Obama has huge poll lead

Barack Obama has a 20-point lead, 55%-35%, over Hillary Clinton in Oregon's May 20 Democratic presidential primary, according to a Portland's Davis, Hibbitts & Midghall Inc. for the Portland Tribune and KPTV News 12.

"Barring a disaster, Barack Obama's going to win Oregon, and he may win it very big," pollster Tim Hibbits told the Portland Tribune. "This is the widest lead that I've seen of any poll for Obama in Oregon," he said. "I'd be shocked if Obama didn't win here."
