Since no candidate filed for the Attorney General race this season, most GOPers assume they are left with a choice between Democrats Greg Macpherson and John Kroger. However, one blogosphere is trying to do what Vance Day and other Republican leaders couldn't accomplish by attempting a write-in campaign for former gubernatorial candidate Ron Saxton.
Saxton, a lawyer with Oregon firm Ater Wynne, raised millions in his 2006 race for governor against Ted Kulongoski. No word yet on whether Saxton would accept the nomination if he received enough write-in votes.
Mark Welczko, a losing primary challenger to U.S. Rep. David Wu earlier this year, has declared his intention to join the race for Labor Commissioner against incumbent Brad Avakian. >
