The new short list for the ’10 Democratic gubernatorial nomination, when Ted Kulongoski is term-limited, might now include: John Kroger, who has no Republican opposition in his bid for Attorney General; Kate Brown, who won a massive victory in the Democratic primary for Secretary of State; Ben Westlund, who is widely expected to become the next State Treasurer; and term-limited State Treasurer Randall Edwards. Don’t be surprised to see Steve Novick run – his Senate bid left him with a fairly devoted following that would be substantial in a multi-candidate field.
Mark Welczko, a losing primary challenger to U.S. Rep. David Wu earlier this year, has declared his intention to join the race for Labor Commissioner against incumbent Brad Avakian. >

Easy There...
Before we anoint John Kroger the chosen one, let's see how he does as AG.
And Easy Over There, too!
Also, let's not be too hasty in anointing Steve Novick, either... as both Novick and Kroger have both spent the same amount of time serving as a public official.
