Marc "Ted" Winters, husband to Senator Jackie Winters (R-Salem) and former aide to former Governors Tom McCall and Bob Straub, died last night at the age of 84. He co-owned and operated restaurant Jackie's Ribs and wrote a book detailing his criminal past and transformation into a life of public service.
“Winters was a devoted husband, father and dedicated Christian whose life was a true testament to the power of the human spirit and faith in God,” Senate Republican Leader Ted Ferrioli (R-John Day). “His personal ministry included a strong commitment to public service. He will be missed and remembered by many. Our hearts and deepest prayers are with Jackie and her family today and in the weeks to come.”
