Update on Monnes Anderson senate race

Monnes Anderson and RobertsMonnes Anderson and RobertsAccording to an active Oregon lobbyist there is no real need for concern when it comes to Gresham state Senator Laurie Monnes Anderson's re-election bid.  It appears the incumbent has attained a comfortable lead against Republican write-in winner Dave Kim and any hype about the race at this point is to help Majority Leader Richard Devlin raise funds for his caucus PAC, the Senate Democratic Leadership Fund

Originally, there was a scare to the Democratic caucus at one point and certain members were allegedly frustrated with Monnes Anderson's lack of energy when it came to fundraising.  One unnamed Democratic senator was overheard saying, "She has barely any motivation to do the work that needs to be done."  After receiving over $200,000 of in-kind donations from the SDLF, a few of her fellow caucus members are demanding Monnes Anderson put her Deputy Majority Leader title to use next cycle to raise funds for their vulnerable seats that are up in 2010.
