Williams to seek City Council seat

Harold Williams looks set to run for the Portland City Council seat that Erik Sten is stepping down from, Williamette Week reports.

“Williams, 31, and his father — North Portland businessman Harold Williams — have deep roots in the city's African-American community.

“Among those already running for the Sten seat are two-time council candidate Nick Fish, a lawyer; and Brendan Finn, who is the chief of staff to city Commissioner Dan Saltzman.

“Harold Williams II says he's running to "inject some energy into the game, and to act as a representative to the young people." Until 2005, the younger Williams was working with Multnomah County as a youth case manager, under contract with his father's company.”
