This week's winners and losers Barack Obama forgets to update his bundlers, Gordon Smith gains and loses some friends and Oregonians will need to vote on one less Bill Sizemore ballot measure.

Winners

Losers

Kurt Schrader

Shrugging off those pesky robocalls from conservative activists and garnering decent GOP support to form "Republicans for Schrader", the 5th CD Democrat should just start measuring retiring Rep. Darlene Hooley's office for curtains right now.

Bill Sizemore

Providing more evidence of his incompetence in shoving his conservative agenda on Oregonians, Sizemore loses two, possibly three of his ballot measures for lack of enough signatures. Seriously, how hard can it be to comply with the law?

Vancouver Commuters

The Portland City Council brought gridlock-frustrated commuters one step closer to a shorter trip when they voted in favor of a new and improved bridge. One catch for the Commissioners, we must have lightrail.

Democratic Party of Oregon

Launching two ads featuring the face and voice of Democratic US Senate candidate Jeff Merkley and then claiming they are "issue ads" when the issues deal primarily with Merkley's legislative accomplishments, it appears the DPO needs to take a closer look at FEC law.

Gordon Smith

Nabbing endorsements from two Democratic members of Congress (cousin Reps. Mark and Tom Udall) and the defection of extreme conservative activist Rob Kremer, Smith is doing all he can to throw himself to the middle before November.

Barack Obama

After calling for more transparency when it comes to political donations, the front page of the New York Times highlights Obama's failure to update his number of wealthy bundlers who show him the money every month. Oops (but just a minor one).

Oregon Trial Lawyers Association

Sending a team of trial lawyers down to Salem to police the signature counting, it looks like they are off the hook for a ballot measure aimed at cutting their salaries.

Steven McAtee

The drunk bicyclist and city employee made an idiot of himself and mockery of bicycle activists everywhere when he ran through a red light then used his bike to club a motorist for calling out McAtee's offense. Cyclepath.

Dave Hunt

With Jeff Duyck out of contention for Rep. Chuck Riley's seat (for now), Hunt is one race closer to Speakership.

Jeff Duyck

Secretary of State told the Oregon House candidate today that he's officially out of the race against Rep. Chuck Riley. So much for election certifications.
